Most people prefer carpet for bedrooms. They are comfortable to walk on and the least expensive floor. Carpet could be installed for as low as $2 a square foot!

Linoleum is a great wood or tile looking floor for as low as $3 a square foot. It lasts a long time but requires certain precautions to avoid tearing. You should not drag furniture on it or put something underneath it.

The wood looking waterproof vinyl click and Laminate flooring are very popular for about $7 a square foot, and it's hard to tell that they are not wood. Laminate is my favorite, because it is more scratch resistant, easiest to clean, and still looks good 20 years later!
